A Woman After God’s Own Heart
Elizabeth George has written the book “A Woman After God’s Own Heart” which originally comes from Acts 13:22: “I have found Davis the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will”.
Elizabeth has then changed it to be to women, while her husband, Jim George, has written a version to men.
As “The 5 Love Languages” which I have reviewed on here, this book is mostly written to wives and mothers. But younger women can ofcourse read the book and prepare themselves to become women after God’s own heart!

The book teaches us to prioritize God first, then the husband, the children, the home, things concerning church and then all other things.
I’d recommend this book to all women and girls. It is a great help for adult life and the life as a wife and mother. When we seeks God first and try to be women after God’s own heart, others will notice.
The ultimate book for learning how to be a woman after God’s own heart is ofcourse the Bible, but this book is very helpful besides the Bible. Elizabeth George got saved when she had been married for 8 years and had her two daughters. She says that the life as a Christian woman changed everything! She has a purpose. She loves her busband and daugthers. The books ends with this:
“And now, my friend, from one woman after God’s own heart to another, may God richly bless you as you follow Him through it all with all yourheart. May you enjoy the presence of the Lord as you proceed full-faith ahead into each fresh, beautiful day. Like the Proverbs 31 woman, smile – God is in control, and the best is yet to come!”
Here is what Proverbs 31:30 says:
“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the Lord, she shall be praised”
